About the Summerland Festival

Summerland Festival is a long-standing Pan-Pagan Festival held every August at Camp Clifton, near Yellow Springs, Ohio. The folk are welcome to enjoy a variety of workshops, childrens’ activities, bardic open mic, and socialization, with the festival culminating with the main ritual on Saturday, followed by a pot luck dinner. Every year, there is music, laughter, and fellowship, in a comfortable, serene camp. The festival has played host to ordinations, initiations, and celebrations for many years, and we look forward to continuing this proud tradition through this year’s theme: New Beginnings.

Registration

Please stay tuned for more information on registering for the festival.  We will be offering a limited number of work barter admissions this year to help bring down the cost of attendance for those who agree to volunteer a set number of hours.

Children under the age of 15 are free, provided that they are registering with a parent/legal guardian.  They need to be named during the registration process.

Cabin Reservations

Sleeping accommodations in the cabins will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.  New this year is reservation by bunk, rather than by whole cabin.  Each cabin has 4-6 bunk beds that may be reserved, and you may request your roommates. When you register, let us know your preference for roommates/location, and we will do our best to accommodate, but we cannot guarantee a particular location unless there is a mobility issue. There are a limited number of bunks in the more accessible cabins that will be set aside for those with disabilities or other special circumstances.

Additionally, those bringing children under the age of 15 will be given priority choice for cabin location, after those with mobility issues or medical needs are accommodated. Children under 15 will be given a free bunk, provided at least one parent/legal guardian has registered and reserved a bunk space for themselves.  Children will be housed in the same cabin as this parent/legal guardian.

Meal Plan

We will be offering a meal plan this year.  More information to come soon.

Presentations & Workshops

Summerland is pleased to offer a diverse selection of workshops throughout the festival.  These may include everything from lectures, to hands-on workshops, to children’s programming, to rituals and other magical experiences.

We are now accepting proposals for presentations. To submit your proposal, please visit our Call for Presentations page.  The theme for the festival this year is “New Beginnings”. While proposals on all topics are welcome, preference will be given to those that relate to this theme. We have no featured presenter this year, but are instead looking forward to showcasing the variety of knowledgable people within the pagan community. A reminder that all attendees will need to abide by our Code of Conduct, and that presenters & ritualists have additional expectations detailed within the policy.

Presenters who are accepted will be provided free admission to the festival, and a guaranteed bunk in a cabin. We ask that those who propose workshops avoid registering themselves until after their proposal has been accepted or denied, at which point those who will be presenting will be provided a discount code to remove the cost of a single registration and bunk. In the interest of fairness, those whose proposals are not accepted will be provided a discount code allowing them to register at the Early Bird fee, regardless of when they register, so long as the registration is completed online. (Further information regarding specific registration costs, cabin fees, meal plan, and registration of children under the age of 18 will be forthcoming.)

A Culture of Consent

Three Cranes Grove, ADF works within a culture of consent at all of our events.  All attendees will be required to agree to our Code of Conduct during the registration process.   There are also additional expectations for presenters, ritualists, and organizers within the policy.  Additionally, a workshop on Consent Culture will be offered during the festival.  All are encouraged to attend.
